TECHNICAL INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR ATTENU8 OVERLAYPLUS FOR FFT5 ON E-FC-1, E-FC-2 AND E-FS-1 ROBUST DETAIL SEPARATING FLOORS

  • The building should be substantially watertight prior to installation of attenu8 OverlayPlus.

  • Make sure screed is sufficiently dry before installing OverlayPlus, if it is damp completely cover the screed with a water impermeable membrane before laying the boards. 
  • The concrete floor should also be clean, level and free of debris prior to installation of Attenu8 OverlayPlus.
  • All internal walls should be built prior to installation of attenu8 OverlayPlus.

  • Prior to installing the OverlayPlus attach acoustic isolation tape to the base of the walls in all perimeter areas. Offer up the OverlayPlus board so that it butts up to the acoustic isolation tape without compressing it too much as to compromise the acoustic integrity of the tape.

  • When laying attenu8 OverlayPlus, begin installation in the furthest corners of the room and work back towards door openings.

  • Cut tongues off joints in the OverlayPlus so that a square edge abuts the previously fitted acoustic isolation tape.

  • Lay attenu8 OverlayPlus in a brickbond pattern across the floor. Use plenty of PVA adhesive in the T&G joints of the panels.

  • Fill any gaps between the edge of the attenu8 OverlayPlus and the acoustic isolation tape with acoustic sealant.
