TECHNICAL INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR ATTENU8 TRIPLEDECK ON TIMBER FLOORS
-
Both the roof of the building and the windows should be in place prior to the installation of attenu8 TripleDeck floor panels.
-
Ensure floor joists are flat and level.
-
Apply acoustic isolation tape to the base of the walls at joist level around the periphery of the room to ensure that all potential flanking paths have been eliminated.
-
Commence installation in the furthest corners of the room and work back towards the door openings.
-
Cut tongues off the joints in theTripleDeck panels in perimeter areas so that a square edge abuts the previously fitted acoustic isolation tape.
-
Lay the TripleDeck directly over floor joists in an interlocking brickbond pattern.
-
Where the TripleDeck joints fall midway between the floor joists, place a noggin in the floor void to support the TripleDeck joints. (DO NOT SCREW FIX TRIPLEDECK TO THE FLOOR JOISTS OTHER THAN AS A TEMPORARY MEASURE WHILST JOINT ADHESIVE IS SETTING.)
-
Light weight timber or metal stud partitions may be built on the TripleDeck. However separating walls comprised of twin studs should always be built off the floor joists.
-
Use an acoustic sealant to fill any gaps between the edge of the TripleDeck panels and the perimeter isolation tape. Holes through the floor e.g. radiator pipe penetrations should be similarly sealed.
